How to Get the Perfect Self-Tan Every Time – Safe Tan

Fortunately self-tanners have come a long method. The streaky orange lotions of the 80s and 90s are long gone and have been replaced with natural looking self tanners that could easily be mistaken for the loyal thing. Despite the advancements, however, today’s self tanners are by no means foolproof. Try these tips to make positive you get the perfect self tan.

Experiment with brands. The first step to getting the perfect self tan is to find out what brand works best for you. Different skin types (dry, normal, etc) and tones (not honest race, but undertones such as yellow or pink) lend themselves best to different self tanning lotions. Buy a few different brands and experiment on an inconspicuous part of your body to see which color works best with your skin.

Exfoliate. Most self tanners tell you to exfoliate before applying, however many users ignore this step. Shaving your legs and exfoliating your skin before applying self tanner is a very necessary step. If you leave dead skin cells on your legs and arms the self tanner may look blotchy upon application. Use a scrubbing sponge or an exfoliating cleanser before using your self tanner for an even look.

Take your time. Even though many of today’s top self tanners are subtle enough to be traditional every single day, you should still take your time when applying them. If you accelerate through your application you tend to leave thick parts in one place while you completely miss another. Carefully add your self tanning lotion slowly and evenly.

Focus on anguish spots. There are certain parts of our bodies that tend to give away our self tan to onlookers. Focusing on these misfortune spots while applying your self tanner will help keep your secret. Joints such as your knees, elbows, and ankles, and your feet are the biggest culprits. Combat the splotchy effects often present in these areas by applying a thinner coat of self tanner and blending it very thoroughly. You may even want to only apply self tanner to these areas every other time you apply the lotion since they tend to expose up darker than other body parts.

Get some help. There are inevitably parts of your body that you simply can’t reach well. Don’t be shy to ask your husband or a friend for some help applying the self tanner to these areas. You certainly don’t want to have a strong line where your tan starts and stops.

Don’t go too dark. Self tanners are best suited to create a slightly darker, healthy glow for light skin. If you try to go extremely shaded with your self tanning you’ll end up looking like you’re wearing a full body mask.

Wash your hands. The final and possibly most necessary part of getting a perfect self tan is to make sure you wash your hands after every application. Darkened palms are a sure giveaway that your tan is fake.

Self tanning is a astonishing safe alternative to the harmful rays of the sun. Follow these tips to get the perfect self tan every time.

The Truth About Tanning Beds

  • If you settle to use tanning beds, it is most important that you take the proper precautions.
  • You should always wear goggles over your eyes when tanning in a tanning bed.
  • UVB light can cause skin cancer.

It’s that time of year again. Spring is almost here and spring break is upon us. Teens, parents, and everyone in between might be yearning for that summer glow, but be wary when choosing to tan. There are risks and facts you need to know that could change your mind all together. Many people get spring fever and opt for tanning beds when it is not warm enough to lie out in the sunlight. Tanning beds may actually be safer than the sun’s rays, but they still have their own risks that need to be taken into fable.

Ways to Protect Your Body

Lotions

If you settle to utilize tanning beds, it is most important that you catch the proper precautions. Wearing a high SPF sun screen is a great way to protect your skin from burning and absorbing more of the harmful UVB rays that may pass through it. 30-45 SPF is what I would recommend. In years past, I never really thought about using sun veil because you traditionally buy lotions and creams at your tanning salon, however, if you read the fine print, you’ll see almost none of these lotions have any SPF or effective sun screen. As a matter of fact, most will actually intensify the burn and are made to allow your skin to absorb even more of the ultraviolet rays.

You may feel a little apprehensive about using an SPF if you have always used the tanning accelerators, but a expansive way to use both is to mix them together when applying. This way, you are protected and can aloof use your accepted lotions. It may not be as an effective arrangement of treating your skin’s health, but it’s a better compromise than nothing.

Goggles

They may not be the most attractive things in the world, but wearing protective eye-wear is essential for keeping your corneas impartial as strong as they were before you went tanning.

According to LifeTips.com, “You should always wear goggles over your eyes when tanning in a tanning bed. The Food and Drug Administration make wearing gawk protection mandatory and will ask to see your protection before allowing you in the bed. The good news salons will offer, either for free or sale, various forms of eye protection. Tanning salons also often offer various designs so you can determine the type you want. Many people don’t like wearing goggles with an elastic band because they cause tan lines. The goggles without elastic are fine for when laying down in a bed, though some people are still bothered by the tan line that could appear across their noses. An option to remedy this is the globe shaped goggles, which are two separate cup-shaped lenses that you place over your eyes, eliminating all chance of tan lines. Beware of salons that claim their beds are so innovative that you don’t need eye protection. Also, closing your eyes, wearing sunglasses, or placing cotton balls over your eyes should never be substituted for tanning bed eye protection.” So, there you have it; you need to wear them whether it’s attractive or not. Just think, in the long run, you’ll be saving your eyes and possibly money on buying glasses or having corrective surgery.

People often disregard the advice and precautions needed in tanning, but this is simply ignorant. My grandmother is in her 60’s and has had many cancers on her legs from tanning beds from when she was younger. She wore no sun block or anything of the like and, as a result, has had to suffer through the freezing off of these painful cancers. She also now wears glasses and never had to in her 20’s and 30’s. This could also be due to aging, but she didn’t wear the goggles, either, and now she is dependent on glasses. Coincidence? I doubt it.

There are many other women and even men who are suffering from cancer now, in their later life, due to uninhibited tanning in their youth. This is why it is so notable to mark these rules and not shrug them off as silly bits of advice or lectures.

Know Your Limits

Spending too long in a bed and burning your skin is just as harmful as not using any lotions or not wearing goggles. If you are pale and have never tanned before, you only want to go five minutes in a 20 minute bed the first time. This way, you will know how your skin is going to react and can prepare to either go the same amount of time on your next visit or bump the time up a couple of minutes.

Even if you are not pale, or you know that you tan easily, forgetting about the time while you are in the bed is very probable, but do not let this happen. When you burn instead of tanning, you are allowing UVB rays to penetrate deeper in your skin. According to Wikipedia.org, “UVB light can cause skin cancer. The radiation excitesDNA molecules in skin cells, causing covalent bonds to build between adjacent thymine bases, producing thymidine dimers. Thymidine dimers do not unsuitable pair normally, which can cause distortion of the DNA helix, stalled replication, gaps, and mis incorporation. These can lead to mutations, which can result in cancerous growths. As a defense against UV radiation, the body tans when exposed to moderate (depending on skin type) levels of radiation by releasing the brown pigment melanin. This helps to block UV penetration and prevent damage to the vulnerable skin tissues deeper down.” Thus, it is very principal to know when you’ve had enough. You can usually feel when your hold body is telling you no; just listen to it and feel when you’re getting too hot or you feel like you are really burning.

Options for UVA and UVB-free tans

There are other methods of achieving a sunless/tanning bedless tan and they include lotions and spray-on tans. They are generally inexpensive and easy to use and last a good length of time. If you do not feel comfortable applying lotions or sprays yourself, many tanning salons now offer mystic tan. Mystic tan is a spray-on tanning machine that will give you an instant tan and glow. Generally averaging about $15 a tan, the effects last anywhere from a month to a few months and have great results. These are fair a couple of options if you must be tan, but do not want the risks interested in beds.

Another thing to remember is, you don’t have to be tan to be beautiful. Society pressures women and men today to think that a skinny, tan physique is the only way to be beautiful, but this is definitely not apt. You can be beautiful no matter what your shape, size, or skin tone. Being pale is just as beautiful as having a sad complexion, but I know that most of you reading this composed want to tan, and I do not blame you. It’s hard to live in this world and not give into societal pressures and fads.

Be safe and really consider what you are doing to your skin and your body when you are not tanning safely. No matter if you are going five to ten minutes out of your way to slap on some strong SPF and goggles, it is worth it. It could save you years of heartache and sickness in the end.

Spring has arrived. Many of the states throughout the country have experienced temperatures more reminiscent of May than March. Sunny California is not particular sunny during the months of January, February and March; in fact those are the wettest months of the year. This year however, the arrival of spring has brought warmer weather and all this warm weather can mean only one thing. It’s bathing suit season.

Sun worshipers are already laying out their towels and beach bunnies have begun to infiltrate the coastlines. In order to show off that great new swim suit, a girl’s got to have a decent tan, right? True! The only problem with that theory is the risk of skin cancer. Since no one wants to look pale and ghostly in their beach wear I’m offering you a ton of tips on the alternative, safe way to glow golden and bronzed without all those sun rays.

Self tanning has been around for a long, long time. Self tanning is the process of applying cream, lotion, or spray to the skin so that the results are a semi-permanent change in the color of the skin, thus the tan. Normally a self tan, or sunless tan other wise known as the untrue bake or fake tan, lasts between 2 to 10 days depending on the type of product and method used. During the 1920’s Dihydroxyacetone, a chemical found in self tanning products, was found to turn the skin brown but the first sunless suntan cream wasn’t developed until the sixties by Coppertone. By the time the eighties rolled around people were slathering the lotions and creams on their bodies only to find that they had turned orange rather than brown.

I remember my first experience with a dismal tanning lotion. Self tanners were easy to site in those days thanks to that awful Halloween pumpkin orange glow we emitted. Just recently several laws have been passed to limit the use of UV tanning beds and so once again Americans have fallen relieve on the old favorite, suntan creams. Times have changed and technology has advanced so that we no longer have the orange dilemma. There are more black tanning brands out there than you can shake a stick at and the techniques are as varied as the products themselves. There are lotions, creams, sprays; pills, air brushing and accelerators just to mention a few. Whether you are spraying or smearing there are a few things you should know. Here are some great tips to getting the best canned tan on the beach.

1. Take a shower first. You can’t query to get a good even tan if your skin is coated in dead cells, dust and grime, all of which we fetch on a daily basis.

2. Prior to applying any sad tanning product to your skin, refrain from shaving. The more sensitive your skin, the worst your results will be if you shave. Remember you are applying a chemical to your skin.

3. Exfoliate your skin while you shower. You don’t want to scrub away your skin but you will need to pay special attention to the elbows, knees, ankles, feet and neck areas. Steer distinct of nylon or loofah scrubbers though as they are sure to cause streaking.

4. Deodorant and antiperspirants cause self tanning products to streak. The best thing to do is make clear you have the air conditioner running so that the room stays cool or rinse off in a cool shower before applying.

5. Wear gloves during the application. There really is no other way to avoid having orange palms. If you chose not to wear gloves makes clear you wash your hands every few minutes and scrub vigorously with a nail brush to help rid of the stain.

6. There are a couple of neat tricks offered at sunless.com. One is to use a sponge paintbrush to apply the product. These are nifty little items usually found in any craft store or the paint department of Wal-mart. Simply spray the solution onto the sponge and rub on your body to eliminate streaks and other application mistakes. The other tip is to use a baby wipe. Rinse a couple out in the sink and hang to dry. When they are completely dry spray with self tanning lotion or foam and wipe your body with it. Continue to spray the wipe as needed when it begins to dry out again.

7. Never apply any sunless tanning product the same day as an planned event or evening out. You never know what kind of disasters may arise from your self tanning adventure and you don’t want to be caught in public with unnatural skin color.

8. The best time to try self tanning is during the behind winter when you can cover any mistakes with lots of clothing. Be sure to try different brands to find the one that suits you best and when you do your test session avoid covering the facial area until you know exactly what the outcome will study like.

9. Unless you’re a contortionist applying the tanners to your attend is quite difficult. One easy draw is to lift a foam paint roller with a long handle on it. Do not try to substitute the foam for another material as foam is the only kind that works with this method. Apply the product to the roller and roll up and down your back. If you’re too leery of attempting that simply employ the assist of a friend or spouse.

10. The only way to maintain your tan is to reapply the tanning solution every other day and moisturize on a daily basis. Your skin may dry out after repeated tannings so be sure to let the tan wear off completely after the third or fourth application.

If after all that, once you’ve scrubbed and moisturized you find that your tan has turned out very bad and you just want to get rid of it you still have way of getting it off. It does rob work and could possibly make your skin sore, but there is a way.

The most natural way to remove it is to just let time pass. It will eventually go and disappear somewhere around 10 days later. During these times I think its best if you try to quit at home and avoid human contact because yes, people will notice. It’s your choice though, if you’d rather just wait it out you can but don’t ask it to go unnoticed.

The other plan to remove the sunless tanner is pleasing simple. When it comes to the face and neck areas baking soda does the trick. First get your face wet and then massage baking soda into the skin in small circles. Sometimes makeup remover will even remove a awful fake tan from your face. For the rest of your body dip a wash cloth in hydrogen peroxide and scrub away the tan. Do a test patch first to determine whether or not your skin will be irritated by it. You can also coat your body in baby oil and then take a shower using baking soda once again to scrub and exfoliate the tan away.

If after you gave all that a try and you find yourself stuck in the putrid shade of orange, look up it could be worst, you could be purple. If the tan refuses to come off then you might as well just catch it because there’s nothing in the world except for time that’s going to procure rid of it. Self tanning products like Coppertone, Banana Boat, Clinique and others are merely a stain. They do not dye your flesh or provide you with permanent results. There’s always a risk involved and you never know what the results will be until you give it a try. Don’t judge the product by what you see on someone else’s skin, everyone’s self tanning adventure is different.

UV-Free Sun Tanning Options – Sunless Tanner Reviews

Not long ago, alabaster skin was prized. Radiant complexions were the desired look for the leisure class, who had no need to earn their living with menial outdoor labor. The term blueblood, in fact, derived from the veins showing through the pale skin of royals at rest. Thanks to Coco Chanel, the San Tropez holiday glow became the recent peer for the fortunate and fashionable. A bronze body tranquil remains the beauty standard in Texas. A tan is slimming, hides a multitude of little flaws, and gives the appearance of a healthy and cosmopolitan lifestyle. Too much fun in the sun, however, causes serious pain. From premature aging to melanomas, the safest bet for achieving a sexy bronze bod is to faux glow.

The options are diverse: unhurried color-building lotions, self-applied tanners (in creams, foams, towelettes, mists, and more), powder bronzers, salon airbrushing, self-tanners applied by pros, and the Mystic Tan booth. All tanners seek a process that’s streak free, easy, lasting, and most importantly, not a shade of orange.
Here are a few of the top Dallas picks….

The Best Tinting Moisturizer
Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizers
This classic drugstore brand created an instant hit with economical emollient lotions for both face and body. Replacing your daily moisturizer, the products soften skin while adding healthy tint. The color (available in three shades) builds gradually over 3 to 10 days.

The Best Brush-On Bronzer
Guerlain Terracotta Collection
Super-chic compacts open to reveal a mosaic of finely milled bronzing powder. With both matte and pearl effects in shades of pink, brown, and gold, one compact fits all. Guerlain’s bronzing powder for men, however, retains machismo with a shaving bowl-inspired pot and a natural, matte copper hue.

The Best Self-Tanner
Lancôme Flash Bronzer
A seriously sexy streak-free tan is achievable at home. Lancôme’s Flash Bronzer is made in oodles of formulas, but the mousse and airbrush versions garner the most girlfriend-to-girlfriend recommendations. Both offer lightweight and even coverage, shimmery gold color, and Vitamin E for soft skin.

The Best Sunless Salon Treatment
Sun FX Spray-On Tan
It’s hard for even the most agile to reach that little state between the shoulder blades. Let a professional expertly apply the tanning potion. At Mari’s Skin Care Salon, the chemical-free and odorless Sun FX is gun-sprayed for complete coverage. After six hours, a gorgeous tan has magically developed. The color –one of three shades, and none of them orange- lasts 5 to 7 days before fading gracefully.

The Best Way to Wean Off the Tanning Bed
Mystic Tan
Okay, it sounds a little sci-fi…. Strip down and step into Jetsons-esque booth to be sprayed with an ultrafine mist of high-tech self tanner. “Magnetically” attracted to the skin, the mist creates a smooth, even tan. Peak color develops in 24 hours. Like a traditional bed, once peak color is reached, it can be maintained with visits every 4 to 5 days.

Make that sunless tan last longer with these beauty strategies….
· Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!
The smoother the skin, the less spotty the finished color. Use a loofah or pumice with special attention to rough areas before the application.

· Lotion up.
Frequent moisturizing skin will help retain color.

· Be patient.
If you’re playing kitchen beautician, take time to cover every inch and carefully rub in the product.

· Read product reviews.
Visit on-line beauty blogs to earn advice from other consumers.

· Use tint judiciously.
To be on the safe side, don’t self-tan right before a colossal event.

Taking the sun out of the suntan is the best blueprint to keep delicate skin safe. Even though these products offer a golden glow, though, they don’t offer any sun protection. If you haven’t been vigilant in applying sunscreen, let May’s Melanoma Awareness Month be a caring reminder to originate now. Pat Sheetz, owner of Mari’s Skin Care Salon, raves about ColorScience’s mineral powder. “It’s a pulverized titanium and zinc oxide sunscreen that goes on sheer,” says Ms. Sheetz. “The SPF is 30 and above. It’s water-resistant, it’s not greasy like other sunscreens, and everyone in the family can use it.”

Those who can’t gain away on holiday now have several vast ways to fake it. For those who still prefer to bask, the life of true suntans can be extended with fab bronzers, too.

How to Look Good Year Round with Fake Tanning – Spray Tanning Lotion

Fake tanning (also known as sunless tanning) is current for many reasons. Tanned legs look more toned, more attractive, and thinner. Pasty thighs look thicker and more unattractive than tanned ones. Arms, likewise, look better and more muscular and toned with a bit of a tan. Tans also mask up unpleasant age spots and varicose veins.

Tanning makes people feel good. Something about soaking in the warmth and light makes them feel good. Tanning produces an emotional high and stimulates natural endorphin production in the body. But in most locations throughout America, Canada, and Europe, people cannot suntan naturally year round. So in the dark winter months it is necessary to visit a tanning booth or lose your summer tan. If you’ve got a special event coming up, especially one like a wedding that will involve lots and lots of pictures, you might want to tan to look your best on your big day.

If you are considering fake tanning, then know that you have two options open to you. People may choose temporary bronzers, sunless tanning lotions, or visiting a tanning bed in a salon.

Bronzers are temporary tanning applications in the do of powders, sprays, gels, or lotions. They are manufactured by many major companies and are found with the makeup and cosmetic products in the supermarket. These products give you skin a suntanned glow, but wash off with soap and water like regular makeup does. They carry the least health risks to any other tanning alternative, but are often obviously fake. Sometimes they make a person appear more like an orange Oompah Loompah than a beautiful bronzed goddess! So if you try a bronzer, get a high-quality stamp and test it out at home first.

Black tanning lotions enjoy DHA as the active ingredient. Through a chemical reaction with the skin, these lotions tan the skin for anywhere from 3 to 10 days. Be careful the first time you try a new sunless tanning lotion or spray. Test it out first on a very small area of skin and wait 24 hours to earn determined that you do not develop any reaction to the product before putting it on your whole body.

The last option is visiting a tanning bed at a local salon. This requires repeat visits of no more than 20 minutes each. Many people prefer this option because it gives them time to relax, feel the warmth of the bed lamps, and it is convenient for them as they can schedule an appointment any time they want.

The Sun Zone Tanning Salon in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania – Tanning Salons Tips

With summer coming, you may be thinking of getting a tan. There are several tanning salons to choose from in the Bridgeville area, but the best by far is The Sun Zone.

The Sun Zone tanning salon is located at 3249 Washington Pike, in Portman’s Country Commons, along with Portman’s, Beez, DiBartola Dental and Bambino’s Child Care Center. It’s located accurate next to South Fayette Shop n Achieve, about 2 miles from the I-79 Bridgeville exit. You’ll find the actual salon underneath the Portman’s building.

The Sun Zone is a runt salon, but it still manages to fit 4 tanning beds inside. Each of the tanning beds has a maximum tanning time of 15 minutes. The bulbs in the beds are strong, giving you a nice tan in a shorter amount of time. The newer and stronger the bulbs, the more even your tan will be. You also want to look for a tanning bed that has the bulbs close together. At The Sun Zone, each of the beds are equipped with bulbs that are fit discontinuance together, allowing you to achieve a nice, even tan all over, without those obvious tan lines.

If you are beginner tanner, meaning you have never tanned before, or you haven’t tanned in a long time, I would suggest starting out with a short amount of time in your tanning bed. The girls at the salon will recommend that you start off slow, and then work your way up. This allows your skin to build the tan, without burning it. If you have pale skin and jump into a tanning bed and lay in it for 15 minutes, you are going to be sorry. Trust me, you will burn. Tanning bed burns are usually much worse than regular sun burns, and take longer to heal. Start off tanning for about 7 minutes, then the next day, 8, and so on until you reach 15 minutes. The Sun Zone, like the majority of other tanning salons, will only allow you to tan once per day. You wouldn’t want to tan more than that anyway.

The Sun Zone has a nice selection of tanning lotions to choose from. They carry brand name lotions, like California Tan, Emerald Bay, Australian Gold and more. Sometimes, they will even have a sale bin, where you can find some great deals on tanning lotions and accessories. I bought a large bottle of Australian Gold Cheeky Brown, which usually costs about $13, for only $7! Before you buy any lotions online, check out what The Sun Zone has to offer right there in the salon.

The only thing I don’t like about the salon are the hours, especially on Fridays and on the weekends. The hours vary, but during the week you can expect them to be open until about 7 pm. On Fridays, they are initiate in the morning, but close around 1 pm. Weekends are the same – launch in the mornings until early afternoon. Sometimes, this can be inconvenient for me, but I try to work my schedule around the salon’s hours. I only live and work about 2 miles away from the salon, so I can easily drive down on my lunch rupture or after work to tan. The salon does require an appointment for tanning, although I have walked in a few times when they weren’t very busy.

I do have a few tips for tanners at The Sun Zone, and other tanning salons. You will need to wear eye protection, to protect your eyes against the UV lights. Don’t worry; they will not give you “raccoon eyes”. Also, decide how you are going to tan. Will you tan nude, or in your bathing suit? Remember, if you tan in your bathing suit, you will get tan lines. Tanning nude may be a proper choice for you, because you will get a complete body tan with no lines. The Sun Zone, like other salons, has private locked rooms with each tanning bed, so nobody can get in and see you. When it’s time to start tanning, you usually have about 2-3 minutes to get undressed and apply any tanning lotions. Then, your bed will turn on. Make sure you wear your goggles! Lay down on your serve, or stomach, and pull the top lid over you. You can listen to your iPod or CD player while you tan, if desired. The 15 minutes does pass pretty quick, and the bed will shut off automatically. When you’re done, pick up dressed and clean off your bed with the provided towel and cleanser. A lot of people consider that they don’t have to trim their bed, but it’s a nice thing to do because you will probably leave sweat on the bed, and the salon workers probably don’t get much joy from cleaning up your sweat!

Another tip is to steal a monthly package if you can. Tanning packages vary, from 1 month up to 3 months. Don’t recall individual tans, since they are usually more expensive all together than a package. For a 1 month unlimited tanning package, it’s about $45. There is no limit to how many days per month you can tan, but you can only tan once per day. At The Sun Zone, you’ll have to initial a piece of paper, proving that you tanned for that day. I would recommend tanning at least 3-4 times per week for a great looking tan, although you may find that more or less works better for you. I’ve tanned every day of the week before, and achieved a fast tan, although it probably wasn’t the best for my skin.

Remember, tanning beds are not a sterling alternative to the sun. They are just as perilous. Before you decide to tan at a salon, look over your options. There are many self-tanners out there, and daily glow moisturizers out there that can give you similar results, although they may not examine as real as a tanning bed tan. The Sun Zone is a great place to go if you are looking into tanning at a salon. Not only is the tanning salon staff top-notch, the salon is very clean and welcoming. You can contact The Sun Zone at (412) 257-8266.

How to Apply Self-tanner – Best Self Tanner

I used to be an avid tanner. I went to tanning beds several times a week to obtain that deep golden bronze gold that many people crave today. However, after doing this for a few years, I discovered a mole on my leg that had not previously been there. That was enough to release me of my tanning addiction. After all the horror stories I read about people who have skin cancer as a result of excessive tanning, I decided it was time for me to stop. That’s when I discovered and being experimenting with self-tanners.

There are many different types of self-tanners – some most definitely work better than others, and some smell a lot better than others too. I assume it really depends from person to person, but a few of my person favorites are Bath ad Body Works Strike Gold – Self Tanning Lotion With Bronzer, Nature’s Gate Organics Upper Tanagement Tanning Creme (available from Drugstore.com), and Fusion Beauty Perfect Glow (available from Sepora.com). These are tanners that have worked effectively for me, but I mediate it takes some experimenting to find one that suits your particular skin tone body chemistry. Once you’ve selected a self-tanning lotion, you’re all set to begin!

1.) Exfoliate: This is a step that is absolutely essential to have a beautiful fake tan. Our skin has so many humdrum cells on the surface that can cause your tan to be blotchy and streaky if not removed. The most effective way to retract them is when you’re in the shower. While many people think it necessary to purchase an expensive exfollient, you can fair as easily employ ingredients that you most likely already have in your kitchen. My favorite thing to use to exfoliate is regular sugar! When I get in the shower and suds up, I grab a handful of sugar and gently massage it into my skin. You have to be careful to not massage it in to the point that it could cause immense irritation to your skin. Another great exfollient is found in baking soda. I use that too the same way I use sugar to procure rid of those uninteresting skin cells! Another option is to use regular table salt in the same manner. After you exfolliate, you’re now ready to self-tan!

2.) Apply: Now that you’ve exfolliated, it’s time to apply your self-tanner. Applying it can get tricky sometimes, particularly when it comes to your hands. To start with, it’s useful to apply lotion in a thick layer to areas that are dry. I put lotion on my elbows, my knees, my heels, toes, and on the back of my heel where your leg and foot meet. I then use any kind of plastic gloves on my hands, to avoid orange palms. The tighter the gloves are, the better, so the self-tanner doesn’t bag inside the glove while you’re applying it. I first apply the lotion my legs and feet, being careful to not put too much on my feet, and use the regular lotion that had already been applied to kind of mix together on my feet. I then do my chest area, face and as much of my back as I want done. After that, I apply it to my arms. Lastly, carefully catch the gloves and put a small dab of lotion on the benefit of your hand. Rub the backs of your hands together to make definite they too get self-tanner on them. Another place to be careful of here is your fingers. I also like to apply regular lotion there too, so that the tiny creases where my knuckles are don’t get too much self-tanner in them. After applying the self-tanner everywhere, it’s essential to let it completely dry. In the summer, I go in my bedroom where I have an air conditioner and fan to speed the process up a bit.

3.) Maintain: To construct your self-tan last as long as possible, the day after you self-tan, apply some sort of deep moisturizing creme all over the areas that have self-tanner on them. This helps your tan last longer, so you don’t have to do that long process every day!

Sunless Tanning Options for the Perfect Summer Tan – Sunless Tanning

There’s just something so tempting about flaunting your perfectly bronzed skin on those hot summer days. There’s nothing like the allure of a beautiful, golden tan, but are the risks really worth it? The dangers of UV exposure are well known. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S. It seems like the risks are just too great a label to pay. But luckily, there are tons of great options out there for gloomy tanning, a healthier alternative to traditional tanning.

Dismal tanning is becoming increasingly more approved, with airbrushed, or spray-on tans, available at indoor salons, as well as other unlit tanning products you can put on yourself. Most of these products believe a chemical called dihydroxyacetone, or DHA, which works by interacting with proteins on the skin’s surface to execute a golden brown color. DHA is favorite by the FDA and has been considered safe for decades.

Spray-on tanning is done in a tanning booth, where the tanning solution is released into the booth as a mist that collects on the skin. The misting process usually takes only a minute. Spray-on tans usually last 4-5 days and fade gradually with skin exfoliation. You can enhance the life of your tan by keeping your skin moisturized and exfoliated prior to tanning. Spray-on tans provide the best of both worlds. You’ll get an even, golden tan, while protecting the health of your skin.

For a less expensive option, you can also try using self-applied tanning products that can easily be found at your local grocery or drug store. In the past, these products may not have had the best reputation, but numerous advances in these products have made them a great option for a beautiful tan. They can give you great results if you know what to look for and apply them properly.

With sunless tanning products, you will often find that you really do get what you pay for. If you don’t want your skin to be orange and streaky, you might have to splurge for a little higher quality price. That being said, you can still easily find a immense product for around $10 or $15. Witness for products that contain a bronzer. This allows you to peep where the product goes and helps achieve even coverage. Foams are good for this same reason. Because they are light and spread easily, they give good coverage and help prevent streaking. Try Neutrogena MicroMist Spray or L’Oreal Sublime Bronze. As with spray-on tanning, you will leer optimal results when your skin is hydrated and exfoliated.

Another great option is to use body lotions that contain a mild self-tanning product. These products are practically mistake-proof, because they develop your tan slowly and gradually. Use these products daily to progressively build a handsome, flawless tan. Try Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer or Vaseline Intensive Care Healthy Body Glow for great results.

Whatever your preferences, there are plenty of options for achieving that perfect tan. Try different products and find what works best for you. This summer is a perfect time to flaunt your golden tan, while maintaining beautiful, healthy skin.
